Max Dee Poll

Our loving kindhearted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away November 18, 2023. Max was born on September 24, 1934 to Royden Vine and Chloe M Jaques Poll. He grew up on his family farm in South Weber, UT with his brothers and sisters. He loved sports in his youth and played basketball and baseball. He graduated from Davis High School in 1952, soon after he started working for Hill Air Force Base as an Aeronautical Engineer, he worked for 38 years of service. 

 

In 1954 he met his sweetheart, Betty L Brown, and after just three short months they were married December 8, 1954. They cherished 69 years together and were blessed with two sons and a daughter. They enjoyed traveling, cruising, and many family camping trips together.

 

Max was an avid golfer, snow skier and bowlerHe loved the great outdoors including hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes and he enjoyed gardening. Max had won many golfing awards and was proud of his two holes-in-one on his league. He had a kind and gentle heart which he showed to his many friends and pets over his lifetime. 

 

Max is survived by his wife, Betty; children and their spouse, Lindy (Cindy) Poll, Lonnie (Lori) Poll, and Lisa (Tab) Visser; 9 grandchildren, Austin, Ashlee, Derick, Chantel, Preston, Josh, Brittanie, Skyler, and Colton; and one step-granddaughter, Nicole; 18 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Joyce (Danny) Weaver and Joann (Don) Stone; sisters-in-law, Barbara Grant Crezee and Helen Read; and brother-in-law, Ken Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Vine, Delbert and Edward Poll; two sisters, Rhea Westbrock and Dorothy Markham; and one brother-in-law, Keith Brown.  

 

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Inspiration/Hospice, Rose, Katie, Paige, Dee and Peachtree for all the kind loving care of our father.

 

A celebration of Max’s life will be held on Thursday November 30, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Peachtree Assisted Living, 4607 Midland Dr., West Haven Ut, in the East Wing Gathering Room.
