Our beloved husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather and brother, Max Thurston Robinson, 89, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 with his family by his side.

He was born May 16, 1923 in Mountain Green, Utah to Archie and Hester Dorris Little Robinson.

On March 26, 1953, Max married "Dutch" Betty deBruyn in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they have two children, Kim Elizabeth (Jeff) Gooch and Wells "Butch" (Jeannie) Robinson.

Max and his father started Robinson Sawmill in 1941, which is still currently operating today by his son, Butch and grandson, Miles.

He spent many years logging in Magpie Canyon, Arbuckle Canyon Monte Cristo and Randolph.

Max worked at Browning Arms for five years as Building Engineer. He then served as Morgan County Deputy Sheriff form 1968 to 1971. He became Sheriff of Morgan County on June 30, 1971. He won a host of friends who respected Max highly for his honesty, diligence and adherence to his high principles. He retired as Sheriff in July 1985 and went back to what he loved doing most, logging.

He was the greatest story teller of all time. His family will greatly miss listening to his many stories.

Max is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter, Kim (Jeff) , son, Butch (Jeannie); one brother, Gary (Connie) Robinson, Austin, TX; two sisters, Colleen (LeRoy) Kapp, South Ogden, Ilene Kellogg, Sandy; seven grandchildren, Lindsey "Loo Loo" Carrigan, Brooke "Boo Boo" Hixson, Phillip "Phil Down" Gooch, Kimberly Green, Shannon Robinson, Miles "Smiles" Robinson and Katie "Kate" Robinson; and ten great-grandchildren. His grandchildren meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two younger brothers, Morris and Howard and his older sister, Helen Morgan.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Alan Abdulla, Dr. Dwight Rigby and Dr. Curtis Campbell for all of their compassion and care given to Max over the many years. Also a special thanks to Phillip and Miles.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15th at 11 a.m. at the Highland Ward Chapel, 5378 Old Highway Road, Morgan.

The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Interment, Mountain Green Cemetery.
