ROY a€" Maxine Bowden passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born October 1, 1930 in Standardville, Utah to William R. and Edith Elnora Middleton.

Maxine married her teenage sweetheart, LaVor H. Bowden, on September 13, 1947 in Pocatello, Idaho.

She loved working at her job at the Tooele City Senior Center and had many treasured friends there.

Maxine loved to have family gatherings and went out of her way to prepare special meals for each and everyone. Maxine was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and ceramics and her family enjoyed receiving her special handmade gifts.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved Relief Society and had served as a Primary Teacher.

Maxine is survived by her two sons and five daughters: Ray (Peggy) Bowden, Eden; Leola Fordham, Ogden; Junior (Toni) Bowden, Roy; Nola Mitchell, Roy; Lois (Scott) Cooper, Toquerville; Nora (Mike) Valdez, Ogden; Flora (Jack) Skinner, Stansbury Park; 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are her sister, Dorey (James) Ellis and brother, William (Luana) Middleton, her aunt, Eva Rauber, brother-in-law, Joseph Obin, sister-in-law, Melba Middleton and many loving nieces and nephews.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, LaVor Bowden, parents, grandsons, Jason LaVor Bowden and Larry Kenneth Mitchell, granddaughter, Hether Mae Dunn, great-grandson, Joshua Warren Angwin, brothers, Don Middleton and John Walter Middleton, and sister, Peggy Obin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
