July 12, 1930 ~ October 28, 2018
Maxine Cook Fabre, 88, of West Point, Utah passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 12, 1930 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Joseph Amos and Martha Myrtle Kynaston Cook. She was the youngest of nine children. She spent her childhood in Idaho and Montana.
Maxine was a “grandma-great” to every child who entered her home. Her love was a gift given to all. She enjoyed holding and helping to raise all of the babies in the family. There were two special day’s during her week, Wednesday’s were “Grandma-Great Day”, where the fridge was always full of sweet treats and all the grandkids would come over and play. Tuesday was also special because the kids, grandkids and grandma would all go to lunch. She threw the best Christmas Eve parties and Easter hunts for all to enjoy. Her family was her life. When she lived away from her grandkids, they would excitedly await their special “birthday boxes” full of treats and presents. She never missed a birthday or holiday.
On October 7, 1950, Maxine married John “Jack” Fabre in Great Falls, MT. They were married for 59 years and were blessed with eight children; Jacqueline Wallmann, Clinton; Laura (Henry) Kidd, Clinton; Penny (Kent) Spencer, Roy; Jaime (Anna) Fabre, VA; John (Sherrie) Fabre, Clinton; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” Fabre, sons, Stephen, Bruce and Timothy Fabre, her parents, four brothers, four sisters, one grandson and two great-granddaughters.
A special thanks to her granddaughters for all of their loving care, her sweet nurse, Tiersa Page of Envision Hospice and Josh Simpson for his support and guidance during difficult times.
