Maxine Devota Rowley Fielding
1928-2016
Our beloved mother, Maxine Devota Rowley Fielding, passed away on July 5th, 2016 two days prior to her 88th birthday, surrounded by her children and some of her grandchildren after an extended battle with dementia. She was met in the warm loving arms of her sister Mildred, mother and father and other loved ones who were anxious to greet her.
Maxine was born in Milford, Utah and spent her youth in Caliente, Nevada. She enjoyed tap dancing when she was young until she contracted polio at the age of twelve. She spent an extended time away from her home and family in Caliente to be treated for polio at the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, California. She attended and graduated from Lincoln County High School in Panaca, Nevada.
She loved her family and enjoyed the visits they would make to her home in Roy and Riverdale, Utah. Maxine loved her flower pots and the beauty of nature. She had a passion for driving her car and taking her grandchildren to various activities. She dearly loved and had joy in the company of her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Maxine is survived by her cherished children, David (Terry) of North Salt Lake, UT, Kirk (Tona) of Pleasant View, UT, and Lori Carter Fielding of Roy, UT, her brother Ivan (Barbara) Rowley, of Cedar City, UT; as well as her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Maxine’s life will be held Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mortuary.
The family appreciates the extended love and care given by the staff at the Family Tree in West Point, Utah.
