Maxine Ottley Layton

CLEARFIELD – Maxine Ottley Layton, 77, passed away March 31, 2016. Born March 28, 1939 in Elba, ID to Frederick E. Ottley and Vivian Udy. She married Gail B. Layton in 1955. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, son Kohy, and her daughter ShellyAnn. She is survived by her sons: Kexton (Christi), Mayland (Chris), Martin (Patty), Shaun (Julia), Thadd (Mary); 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She loved her family and her Father in Heaven. Maxine and Gail served an LDS mission in the Montana Billings Mission and loved all the sweet families they taught and the fellow missionaries they served with.
Maxine was an excellent cook and loved to share her talent with others. She was a resident of Island Park, Idaho where she served on the city council and as mayor. She was an avid snowmobiler and was the winner of the Old Ladies Snowmobile Race for five years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Clearfield Stake Center, 935 S. State Street, Clearfield, UT. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center before the service.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
