Maxine M. Montroy
Maxine M. Montroy passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014.
Maxine was born to Charles Bertrand and Lena Grace Strain on April 29, 1921 in Oberlin, Kansas. She attended schools in San Bernardino, CA.
On July 25, 1946 she married Harold Vincent Montroy. They were married for nearly 50 years before he passed away.
Maxine worked many jobs during her life. Among them was Bank of America teller, co-owner of vacuum shop, aide at deaf school where she proudly learned sign language, nursing home aide and in her later years she and Harold managed storage units.
Although Maxine never had children of her own she laid claim to all her nieces and nephews, spoiling them and loving them as her own.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, one sister, three brothers and nephews Dennis, Ronnie, Sidney Strain and Carol McKinney.
She is survived by three great-nieces and one great-nephew.
Thank you Rocky Mountain Nursing Home and her special roommate Sherry for her care.
As per her wishes there will be no funeral.
Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
Interment will be at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Riverside, CA.
