Maxine Virginia Steeley Williams

Maxine Virginia Steeley Williams passed away on August 5, 2012 in Ogden. Maxine was born on August 15, 1926 in Greenfield, MO to Mile Burton and LouAnn Stapp Steeley. She was the last surviving sibling in a family of 12 children. Her family migrated to California during the Dust Bowl.

She married Russell Merle Williams Sr. in San Francisco and they moved their family to Ogden in 1965.

Maxine loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending soccer, hockey and cheerleading events. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she enjoyed many lifetime friendships. She was also an active member of PEO and loved the luncheons and companionship of the members.

She is survived by her daughter, Pat (Dave) and son, Russ (Shanna) both of Ogden; four grandchildren, Shawn (Sharon), Amanda (Rob), Dave (Erin) and Josh and 2 great-grandchildren, Sara and Parker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell and son, Gaylord.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Thanks to the IMC unit at McKay Hospital and Dr. Zbirun for the compassionate care given to mom during the last week. We also thank Dr. Dennis Sobotka and Dr. Nayda Wayment, Dr. Gary Alexander and their office staff for their care of mom over the years.
