MAZIE CUNDICK

1916 – 2016

Mazie Cundick, age 99, passed away June 3, 2016.  She was born November 3, 1916, the fourth of seven children to Ermen and Ella Stevens in Bloomington, Idaho

She attended elementary school in Bloomington and graduated from high school in Paris, Idaho.  Later, she attended Ogden Business College and then earned a BYU Associate of Arts Degree.  She married Galen Cundick in 1963 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

As an active member of the LDS Church, she held many leadership positions and served as a capable teacher; she also worked in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples.  She treasured her service as a missionary and fulfilled four full-time missions:  Liberty Jail in Missouri, Ireland, Temple Square, and the Church Membership Department.  She retired from US Government Civil Service at Hill AFB.  After retirement, she had more time for her hobbies of home decorating, traveling, cooking, and sewing.

She was blessed with two sons, Curtis and Roy (Lynn) Bowman; five grandsons:  Ryan, Vance (Megumi), Shane, Cory, and Brett; two granddaughters:  Tamara and Somerset; and three great-grandchildren:  Forest, Takatora, and Khaleesi.  She also has two wonderful stepdaughters: Karlin Gymon and Karen Klungervick; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Kay Vance.  Each day she expressed gratitude for her association with relatives and friends who have stood by her with their love.

Special gratitude is expressed toward Mazie's angelic niece; Sandra Shull and Sandra's wonderful husband Joe, for investing so much time and resources on behalf of Mazie, in the 11th hour of her life.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. in Bountiful.  A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 at the mortuary.  Interment in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
