Melaquias Clemente Romero
"Our Son"
Born ~ February 10, 2020
Called Home to Our GOD ~ May 21, 2021
Our beloved, Melaquias Clemente Romero, was called home to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the early morning of May the 21, 2021. Surrounded and supported by his family, our son fought the good fight and gracefully succumbed to complications of liver failure. Melaquias "Shorty", as known by his Papa, was loved by all family members and friends that came into his life.
Melaquias spent many days in early childhood napping on Papa's shoulder and enjoying Disney movies together like "Finding Nemo", a special movie, shared between father and son. Our "Chunky", as called by his Momma, enjoyed a lot of educational experiences and activities such as learning the ABC's and 123's. Melaquias learned words like dad, daddy, and papa. When our "shorty" said "MOMMA" it was a very blessed day for us as parents.
Our Mijo came into this world loved dearly by his older brother, Jeremy a.k.a. "J". Melaquias could be found playing with big brother "J" daily and learning how to fly his Buzz Lightyear toy in the front room during family time. Our son, being born in February, shared a special bond with his great-grandmother, Nora Gallegos, celebrating his birthday with grandma Nora being only three days apart. "Shorty" was always in Grandma Nora's arms at every visit.
Our son spent holidays with Papa and Momma and big brother "J". Activities enjoyed by our beloved son were painting his first Jack-o-lantern at Halloween and giving thanks at his first "Turkey Day". Our Melaquias spent his Christmas at home with family opening presents with brother "J" and napping with Papa. "Chunky" enjoyed the Easter egg hunt amongst family members and especially liked the blue fishing hat Papa bought him.
Our little soldier found help and support in his time of need from his caretakers while at Intermountain Healthcare Primary Children's Hospital. A special thanks goes out to all of the nurses and technicians in the CMU and PICU units that cared for our son Melaquias. A very special thanks goes out to Duwane and David, special nurses that were at our son’s side during his life and death.
Our son, Melaquias, is survived by his father, Richard Mike Romero and mother, Danielle Nicole Yancey and brother, Jeremy; as well as many aunts and uncles and cousins. Melaquias is also survived by both grandparents from the Romero family and Yancey family. A very special thanks to his Godparents Ryan (Tessa) Padilla for the sacred bond shared with our son Melaquias.
