Melba Sessions Martin Gannon, 96, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. She was born February 5, 1919 in Byron, Wyoming to Perry Green and Selma Emelia Jensen Sessions.
She attended public schools in Byron and Laramie, Wyoming. She attended college at the University of Wyoming.
She married James Donald “Don” Martin on May 13, 1936 in Sydney, Nebraska. He passed away on October 6, 1983. Later she married Willis Gannon. He passed away on August 20, 1999.
Melba worked as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service.
She belonged to the Union Pacific Old Times Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in her early years. Later she was a member of the Roy Christian Church. She enjoyed square dancing and being involved in homemaking groups.
Melba is survived by her sons, Richard Jan Martin, Bedford, Texas; and Dennis Max Martin, Ogden, Utah; her daughter, Vicki Lee Martin, Clearfield, Utah; nine grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Harbor Christian Church, 800 Washington Blvd, Ogden. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd, South Ogden.
