July 29, 1927 ~ October 28, 2015
Melba Taylor Charlesworth Lorance, 88, passed away on October 28, 2015, from causes incident to cancer. Our beautiful, sweet, courageous Mother was born on July 29, 1927 to Warren Lyman and Reta Randall Taylor. She grew up in Harrisville, Utah, and graduated from Weber High School. In 1946 she married Robert Charlesworth and they had four children. Bob passed away in 1961 at the young age of 33, following open heart surgery. Melba later married Frank L. Lorance. They enjoyed many happy years together, traveling and just enjoying life. Frank passed away in 2000 from congestive heart failure and Melba lived her final 15 years enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In Mom’s earlier years, she enjoyed modeling, golfing, bowling, and the volunteer work at McKay Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and always loved her sports!
Mother is survived by her son, Robert Charlesworth; three daughters, Susan (Boyd) Bingham, Debra (Mike) Tribe, and Jan (Jeff) Conatser; 11 grandchildren, 14great-grandchildren, brother, Ralph Taylor and sister, Annette Brewer Whitfield. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, one sister, Arlene Liptrot; and one grandson, Zachary Blair Hunt.
We would like to thank all the hard working Med Techs and CNAs at Legacy House Assisted Living and also Katie, her homecare and hospice aide, for being so kind and helpful to our Mother during the last three months of her life. You all made a big difference in her final days.
