- On Wednesday, November 4, 2009, Melva LaDean Howard Wilson, 82, our beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother passed from our sight and joyfully returned to her Father in Heaven to join loved ones waiting for her there.
She was born November 22, 1926 in Bear River City, Utah, the daughter of Eli J. and LaDean Allred Howard.
Melva left home during World War II to support her country''s war effort and trained as a welder at a shipyard in California. While there, she met and married her life companion, Delbert F. Wilson, Jr. He preceded her in death in 1995. Melva continued working for the Department of Defense finishing her career at Hill Air Force Base as a material support coordinator. After retirement, she and Del became active in the Golden Hours Senior Center in Ogden.
Melva was a talented artist and sold many of her oils and watercolors across the state.
She moved to Mesquite, NV in 2002 to join her sister, Sharyn Hess where she made new friends and enjoyed the sun.
Melva is survived by one son, Garrel Lynn (Ruth Ann) Wilson, Mesquite, NV; four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Doral J. (Virgie) Howard, Plain City, UT and one sister, Shirie R. (Gordon) Findlay, Seattle, WA.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 10th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
