Melvin Scott Harada, 57, of Roy, passed away on March 9, 2016 at Davis Hospital in Layton.
He was born to Utaka and Martha Misao Yamamoto Harada on May 13, 1958 in Ogden, Utah. Scott graduated from Roy High School in 1976, and then later learned carpentry skills at a Technical College in Cedar City.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and bowling, as well as skeet shooting with the gun club, video games and arcade games. Most of all he loved spending time with his good friends and family.
Scott is survived by his son, Toby Jack “TJ” Herrera, Layton; his mother, Martha, of Roy; sister, Dianne Harada, of Roy; three nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, one sister and his grandparents.
Scott loved to have fun and always joked that he wanted to have a wake and not a somber service, so please dress casually.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
