Melvin George Larew
CLEARFIELD a" Melvin George Larew Sr. was born October 25, 1911 to Dorsey Walker and Nellie Shaver Larew, near Rowlesburg, West Virginia.
Upon graduation as valedictorian from High School in 1931, enlisted as an Apprentice Seaman U.S. Navy on March 1, 1932, remained in U.S. Navy until February 2, 1953 at which time he retired with the rank of Lieutenant, Supply Corps with many service medals.
Upon retiring he entered the Life Insurance and Real Estate Business. He was affiliated with Lynn Phillips of Phillips Realty, Ogden, Utah as a Real Estate Broker.
On October 6, 1935, married Naomi Jane Villett in Inglewood, California. To this union the following children were born, Sandra (Jerry) Bangerter, Kailua, Hawaii; Mel (Tamee) Larew Jr., San Diego, CA; and Fred (Kathi) Larew, Roseburg, OR; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All three children survive him. On March 26, 1991, Naomi Jane departed this life and Melvin never remarried.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Newton, Utah Cemetery in the family plot.
