Melvin Hall Peugh, son of Martin Obie and Allie Fern Merrick, born in Big Springs Texas on August 22nd, 1935, lived to the age of 88 years old before his passing on July 7th, 2024, at the Holy Cross Hospital in Layton Utah.
Melvin was a 4th generation farmer from Plain View Texas where he grew up. After High school he joined the United States Air Force in 1954 where he served in Okinawa. After his enlistment he returned to the United States and fell in love with Louise Tubb in Edmonson Texas and were married on March 18th, 1959. They soon started their family and moved to Layton Utah in 1965. He worked civil service at Hill AFB as an aircraft mechanic on the F4 Phantom until he retired in 1988.
Mel was always looking to have a good time, he loved motorcycles, snowmobiles, boating, camped and tinkered around the house until his passing. He was a man of many words, who loved to tell stories and take pictures over a can of Pepsi and peanuts. The whole neighborhood knew grandpa Peugh, he had friends who called him every week just to hear those stories and check in.
Melvin is survived by his wife Louise Peugh, son Danny Peugh, grandchildren Corina Peugh, Brad Peugh, Monique Peugh, Brittany Glorioso, and great grandkids Kayedence, Ryker, Raylee, and Daxton.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Loretta Peugh, brother Phillip Peugh, and son Ronnie Peugh.
Melvin Hall Peugh’s Graveside services will be held Tuesday July 16th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
