Melvina Jackson Simmons, 92, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, October 27, 2017.
She was born July 20, 1925 to Melvin and Lila (Snowball) Jackson in Ogden (Wilson Lane), Utah. Melvina graduated from Weber High School in 1943.
She married Theodore Lewis in 1947, they had two children and later divorced. She then married Max L. Simmons in 1967.
She worked at Boyles Furniture, and later retired from Hill Air Force Base.
Melvina's hobbies included sewing, making porcelain dolls and teddy bears, and Bunka. She loved traveling all over the world with her daughter, Kathy. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and camping and fishing.
She was a member of the LDS church and attended the Roy 4th Ward.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alta Spencer, her husband, and grandson Little John Lewis. She is survived by her children, Corey (Janet) Lewis, Kathy (Don) Hurford, and step-daughter Toni Simmons, her sister Patricia (William) Younger, five grandchildren Kristy (Brad) Rochell, Ryan (Megan) Lewis, Scott (Jaclyn) Lewis, Nichole (Cory) Holliday, Tiffany (Joey) Ellison and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Eden Mountainview Cemetery, 5555 South 2700 North, Eden. The family will meet with friends on Sunday, October 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
