Meredith Ann Stevens
LAYTON a" Meredith Ann Stevens, 71, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at her home.
She was born May 3, 1941 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Loy Harold and Anne Mae Henrie Johnson.
Meredith married Melvin Eugene Stevens on June 3, 1960 in Dubois, Idaho.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a primary teacher and in the relief society for many years.
Meredith was a sponsor for the Saint Joseph Indian School for children. She loved Indian culture and beadwork, reading western novels, watching western movies and listening to country music. She had a great love and appreciation for the Native American culture.
Surviving are her children, Krisann (Joe) Cruthers, Melanie Hewitt, Chad Stevens, five grandchildren, Rachael, Heather, Casey, Cheyenne, Sierra, 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Sheryl Sue (Chuck) Garey, brother, Clint (Sue) Johnson, numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Preceded in death by her husband Melvin, parents, sister, Nancy Lynn and great-granddaughter, Kylie Anne.
Open house memorial will be held Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at her home, 89 W. Diamond St., Layton.
Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
The family would like to thank the Layton Central Ward Bishopric, Relief Society, Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary and the loving support of extended family and friends.
