SOUTH OGDEN a€" Merle Eugene Adamson, Jr., 73, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at a local care center.

He was born March 1, 1934 in Franklin, Idaho, a son of Merle Eugene Sr. and Margaret Whitehead Adamson.

On October 8, 1952, Merle married Rene Herd in Franklin, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 10, 1964. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1995.

He was raised and educated in Franklin, Idaho moving to the Ogden area at the age of 18.

Merle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a telecommunications technician for many years.

Merle was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Jeffrey (Paulette, dec.) Adamson, Layton; Darren (Jill) Adamson, Murrieta, CA; Rindy (Mike) Kennedy, Morgan; Tammy (Bill) Salerno, Ogden; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is one sister, Elizabeth Johnson.

Preceding him in death were his wife, his parents, and daughter-in-law, Paulette.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Franklin, Idaho City Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9 to 10 a.m.
