Merle Dunkley

LAYTON – Merle Jean Allen Dunkley, age 82, passed away quietly Monday, April 29, 2019 at the University of Utah Hospital.

She was born December 29, 1936 in Logan, Utah, daughter of A.D. and Vesta Allen.  Merle married Grant Neeley Dunkley on December 31, 1969 in Evanston, Wyoming.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on September 21, 1991.

Merle was an intake worker at Davis County Mental Health, where she created lasting friendships.

Merle loved her children and grandchildren.  She is survived by one daughter, Stacy (Casey) Ripple, Helena, Montana; one son, Lance A. (Heidi) Dunkley, Salt Lake City, Utah; and seven grandchildren.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, parents, six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Snow Creek Chapel, 845 N. 1150 E., Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
