Merleen Green Casper passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. Merleen was born on February 15, 1949 in Ogden, Utah to Merlin and Norma (Hancock) Green. She grew up in Kanesville (West Haven), Utah. She graduated from Roy High School in 1967. She married Douglas Casper in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 15, 1974. He passed away in 2011.
Merleen worked at Hill Air Force Base, Immigration for the State, and retired from Davis County Courts with 20 years of service. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They were privileged to adopt their children: Robert, Maria, Diana, and Bertha from Peru; Edee from Colombia, and Jacob from El Salvador. She loved them very much, She also loved her 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Bertha, two great-grandsons (Grayson and Kole), parents, and brothers Blair (Sandy) and Keith (Myrna). She is survived by her twin sister Norleen Leavitt (Bob), and brother Phil (Jo An-deceased).
Merleen enjoyed tole painting, quilting, and of course keeping busy with her large family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends and family may visit Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery, Syracuse, Utah.
