Merlin James Nelson

Merlin James Nelson passed away on May 2, 2013 at home surrounded by family. He was born on October 23, 1928 in Thorton, Idaho, to James Douglas and Fannie Pierce Nelson. He married Carma Petersen on December 28, 1953. Merlin worked for Bountiful City Light and Power for 31 years as a power lineman and for 3 years at Camping World as the camp managers in Mount Pleasant, Utah.

Merlin is survived by his wife Carma; children Randy (Colleen) Nelson, Keith (Georgetta) Nelson, Mary Merlyn Nelson Navajo and Reid (Jody) Nelson; sisters, Leatrice Hunsaker and Jean (Ray) Thompson and sister-in-law, Barbara Nelson; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Marion and Reid P. Nelson and sister, Leone Stewart.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. in Bountiful where friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:45 prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Primary Children''s Medical Center in Merlin''s name. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
