Michael Rich Bindrup
February 2, 1964 ~ May 4, 2017
Michael Rich Bindrup, 53, returned to our Father in Heaven on Thursday, May 4, 2017. He was born on February 2, 1964 in Ogden, to Kenneth and Pamala Bindrup. He grew up in Mountain Green. Mike graduated from Morgan High School class of 1982, and served a faithful mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He married Darcel Marie Cowdin on June 24, 1987 in the Ogden LDS Temple, and they raised five excellent children together.
Mike loved motorcycles, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, scuba diving, and the Boston Red Sox. His goal in life was to have fun and work hard.
A journeyman electrician, he was employed at HAFB where he served as a union steward and as a Volunteer Protection Program Rep. Mike was also a member of Weber County Search and Rescue.
Although Mike went through many trials he never gave up. He will be remembered for being kind, patient, and determined to live life to the fullest. A friend to all with a great memory, Mike never knew a stranger.
Mike is survived by his wife of 29 years, Darcel; children, Kendra, Katelyn (Mayson Kopecky), Neil, Megan, and Mattyson; and granddaughter, Opal Kopecky. He is also survived by his parents, Kenneth and Pamala; brother, Steven (Candace) Bindrup, West Virginia; sisters, Tricia (David) Buck, Ogden and Kristen (Michael) Cragun, Mountain Green. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward, 350 West 5100 South. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Uintah City Cemetery.
