OGDEN a€" Michael Wallace Chandler left this life on Sunday, April 17, 2011 in Ogden.

Michael was born March 12, 1948, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Wallace Lawrence and Mary Katherine Coursen Chandler. Michael spent his early childhood roaming the west bench hills in Pocatello and hanging out with friends.

Michael attended Highland High School until his senior year, when he dropped out and joined the U.S. Army, serving in Germany and Vietnam. He received his GED during that time. While working at A.M.I., he met his future wife, Sherry L. Kirby. They were married April 15, 1978 in Salt Lake City. They made their home in Pocatello raising two great kids, Nova Dawn and Zachary Michael. They moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1997 and then back to Ogden in 1999. Michael lived for a short time in Arizona before his death. Michael also worked for U.P.R.R., in the auto parts business, Camping World and finally Browning, until he retired in 2005.

Michael loved to be in the great outdoors a€" hunting, fishing and always said he was born 100 years too late. He vocally enjoyed pro football and the Saints.

Surviving are his children, Nova, and Zachary (Jenny), his former wife Sherry, sister, Anne (Jim) Sexton, brothers, Larry Stanton and David (Debbie Piacenza) Chandler, three nephews, one niece and his two wonderful greyhounds, Wookie and Gable.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Saturday from 10-10:45.

Cremation under the direction of Lindquists'' Crematory.
