Michael Christopherson

October 23, 1965 — April 2, 2021

Michael Lynn Christopherson

Michael Lynn Christopherson passed away at the age of 55 on Friday, April 2, 2021 at his home with loved ones by his side after a year-long fight with glioblastoma, a terminal cancer of the brain.

He was born October 23, 1965 to LeRoy Warner Christopherson and Nelda Jewel Spencer in Glendale, California.  Soon after, they moved to Bountiful, Utah where Michael was raised with his three brothers and two sisters.  They were taught to work hard, remember to laugh and to love unconditionally.

Michael married his sweetheart Cynthia Ann Robison of Rexburg, Idaho on December 28, 1987 in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah.  They built an eternal family together including four daughters, one son and four grandsons.  He strived to be the best husband, daddy and papa he could be.  He loved to bring smiles to their faces by being silly, telling jokes and singing songs.

Michael was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ.  In his youth, he earned his Eagle Scout award and served for two years in the Argentina Buenos Aires mission which holds a special place in his heart.  He also served in many capacities in the Young Men's organization, High Priest Group leadership and the High Council.

Michael enjoyed making memories with his family and friends by spending time outdoors, bicycling, hunting, and especially fishing.  He loved his country and served in the Persian Gulf War in the United States Army Reserve.

Michael received a Masters of Accounting Degree at Utah State University. Because of his big heart, he used his education to benefit the healthcare industry's long-term care facilities where he was an executive for Tara Cares, Ensign Group, and Avalon Health.  He was a member of AANAC, earned the RAC-CT certification and did what he could to ensure quality care for residents and was a master at Medicare and Medicaid patient reimbursement.

Michael is survived by his wife Cynthia Christopherson, Farmington; daughters, Jennifer (Tyler) Gogan, Eagle Mountain; Rebecca (Jacob) Forsling, South Jordan; Emily Christopherson, Eagle Mountain; Sarah Christopherson, Farmington; four grandsons, William, Benjamin, Jackson and Kason; parents, LeRoy and Jewel Christopherson, Bountiful; brothers, James (Ilona) Christopherson, West Bountiful; Bill (Susan) Christopherson, Farmington; Tony (Johanna) Christopherson, Layton; sisters, Sherida (David) Steffen, Las Vegas; Lynann (Michael) Barnes, Layton; in-laws, Richard and Carolyn Robison, Draper; brothers-in-law, Richard Robison, Cincinnati, OH; Russell Robison, Fresno, CA; Robert (Jennie) Robison, Saratoga Springs; Ryan (Meredeth) Robison, Nashville, TN; sisters-in-law, Stephanie (Steve) Johnsen, Draper; and Leslie (Clint) Johnson, Draper.

He is preceded in death by son, Tanner Michael Christopherson, brother, David LeRoy Christopherson and sister-in-law, Jeannette Spencer.

The family would like to thank the wonderful care he received at the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY, and in Utah the Huntsman Cancer Center, Rocky Mountain Home Care and Hospice, and Visiting Angels Senior Home Care, as well as the countless family and friends who have spent their time caring for and loving Michael.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Crossing Ward, 980 N.
