May 18, 1952 — February 18, 2010

Michael Ray Deeter

Our loving dad, son, brother, grandpa, and friend passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 after losing his battle with cancer.

Dad was born May 18, 1952 in Ogden, Utah to William Deeter and Shirley Ray Deeter. He attended schools in Ogden and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1970.

He married Dixie Maughan on August 3, 1972 and together they had two children, Stephanie and Brian. They were later divorced. He married Robecca "Becky" Jarman on July 8, 1980 and she passed away on June 28, 1984. On April 16, 1988, he married Brenda Hunsaker and they later divorced.

Dad was a hard worker and he was employed in the grocery business all of his life, working at Smiths, Harmons, Fred Meyer and Wal-mart, where he made many friends and was loved by many.

Dad was a kind, gentle, quite man and was always there for us no matter what.

He was an avid snow skier and taught us his love of skiing at a very young age. He also loved to water-ski, his bowling league, going to concerts, watching the Utah Jazz, our yearly family reunions to Seeley Lake, Montana, and attending his AA meetings, where he met many friends that he loved and cared about. Dad and our family were very proud of his 15 years of sobriety. Dad lived by the motto, God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Dad was an important part of his grandkids lives, always at their dance recitals, sporting events, taking them to the movies, water parks, and just spending time with them.

He is survived by his two children, Stephanie (Kevin) Wayment and Brian (Mindy) Deeter, his mother, Shirley Ray Deeter, two sisters, Patricia (Steve) Rawlings and Kathy Deeter. Also, his five grandchildren, Kallie, Christy, Alyssa, Kourtney, Kaden, and two nephews, many cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, his father and his second wife.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ronald Simmons, Dr. Vincent Hansen and their staff for their compassion and kindness during these last few months.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 am. at the mortuary.
