Michael Scott Featherston

Michael Scott Featherston, 60, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022.He was born on January 30, 1962 in Iowa City, IA to Horace Joe Featherston and Lula Jane Metzler. Their family moved to Utah in 1969.

Michael attended Roy High School. He completed training in Small Engine Repair. He worked at Enable Industries for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mike was a storyteller. He loved talking about his trips and experiences and always had a joke to tell. He had a passion for all kinds of music – his favorite was classic heavy metal. He enjoyed going to concerts, food and traveling. Mike was compassionate and would give the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He was a friend to all.

His family includes his mother, Lula Jane Featherston of Ogden; sisters, Debbie Richardson (Tim) of Ogden and Julie Smith (Chad) of Roy; nieces and nephews, Michelle Sewell of Ogden; Melanie Vockler of Ogden; Jessica Ostler (Andy) of Roy; Zak Smith (Sammie) of Ogden; Alexis Smith of Roy; Seth Featherston (Autumn) of Ogden; Emilie Barragan (Erick) of Syracuse; Skye Willard of Ogden; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Joe Featherston; and brother, John Featherston.

The family would like to thank Kara Leatham and Jessica Heiner, social workers with the Utah New Choices Waiver Program, the staff at Aspen Care Center, the ICU intensivists and ICU/Medical RNs and CNAs at Ogden Regional Medical Center as well as CNS Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Mike and the compassion they showed Mike and his family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11 am at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and will be officiated by Pastor Steve Tharp from First Baptist Church of Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 am at the mortuary.
