Michael David Gibson, 65, of Ogden, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Ogden Regional Hospital of natural causes.

Born in Ogden on February 13, 1950 to John Joseph and Alice Pauline (Paugh) Gibson, Mike was raised and schooled locally. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a light vehicle driver with the 36th Engineer Battalion from November of 1970 through January of 1972, being honorably discharged as Specialist.

Mike worked at Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft painter for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, and will be dearly missed by his family and close friends.

He is survived by his children, David (Jennifer) Gibson, West Point, and Shandie Gibson, Ogden; his siblings, Annette (Dan) Bybee, Brigham City; Karen (Danny) Clark, Ogden; Roger Gibson, California; and Keith Croft; by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Phylis Gibson Archuletta.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, where military honors will be accorded.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Ogden Regional Hospital for the care and compassion they gave to Dad and to the family.
