Michael Francis Grinnell

4/11/1962 – 11/16/2017

Michael was born in Flint, Michigan to Bernard Galloup and Sharon Parker on April 11, 1962. His grandma Alice Brightsman and grandpa Clare Galloup raised him on their family farm where he became a good farm hand plowing fields with his grandpa’s equipment and milking cows by the age of eight.

As a teenager he left home and ended up in Florida where he got an early start on life working in Lumber Mills for a few years. He later changed his name and started driving truck through the lower 48 states. While driving truck he met Eugene Turner who later introduced him to one of his daughters, Sheila Turner. They married and had four children: Aaron, Jared, Kyle and Aulena.

Later he left Sheila and started work at Henderson Wheel. In 2008 Sheila passed away. He met Virgenia Angcos in the Philippines where they married civilly in 2016. After Michael was baptized into the Catholic Church, Virgenia and he were remarried in the Catholic Church in 2017.

Michael was living with his children and Virgenia in Sunset, Utah, when he passed away unexpectedly from his many struggles, suffering and pain on Thursday, November 16, 2017, in Millcreek, Utah.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, son, Aaron and other extended family members.

He is survived by: his wife, Virgenia; his children, Jared, Kyle, and Aulena.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton, Utah.  Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  A Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.
