Michael A. Hales, 79, passed away May 30, 2021 in Layton, Utah. He was born August 3, 1941 in Farmington, Utah to Wilson Alexander and Annie Laurie Cantrell Hales. He was raised in Davis County and attended Davis High School.
He retired from Hill AFB after working 30 years as an aircraft mechanic on F-15 jets.
He enjoyed a good western movie. He was a very talented with woodwork, making a lot of furniture over the years. He built a dresser and donated it to Primary Children’s Hospital. He also built most of the furniture in the house. He enjoyed collecting guns; he was an avid Denver Bronco’s fan, enjoyed riding motorcycles back in the day, a jack of all trades, liked to bake and proudly hung the American Flag in his yard on a 25 foot pole. Michael loved his dogs and cats and he really liked to make chili.
Michael is survived by his children Greg Hales, Lori Hales and his granddaughter Abby. He also has two children from a previous marriage, Michael and Natalie. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents, sister Joyce and his dog Juno.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
