Michael R. Hamblin

On a beautiful Sunday morning, April 28, 2013, Michael Richard Hamblin of St. George, Utah left his earthly life behind. Michael was born December 28, 1948, in Pasadena, California; the first child of LaMar Richard Hamblin and Melissa Arlene Craig Hamblin. He lived in Roy until he was 11 years old when the family moved to Syracuse. He attended Syracuse Elementary, North Davis Jr. High and Clearfield High School. He married Patricia Grice, they had three children. They later divorced. He married Shelly Cook, who had one child. They later had one more child. Together they raised their five children in Syracuse. They later divorced. Michael then made his home in St. George. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, camping, four-wheeling and boating. Most of all, he enjoyed the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson. He established a successful pool supply business where he was known as "Mike-The Pool Guy." He was also a Certified Pool-Spa Operator-Instructor. All of those who worked with Michael were not just customers but became close friends. He enjoyed close relationships with his neighbors as well. Grandfather of fifteen, great-grandfather of one, he was filled with joy while spending time with his family. Preceding him in death are his father, LaMar Richard Hamblin and grandparents, Richard and Hazel Hamblin. Surviving family members are: his mother, Arlene Hamblin and the following sister and brothers, Jenny Hamblin Hawks (David), David Hamblin (Diana), Steven Hamblin (Jan), Robert Hamblin (Stephanie), and Timothy Hamblin, along with many nieces and nephews. His children: Wendy Ferguson (Todd), Lori Madison (Jim), Brandon Hamblin (Shannon), Brian Hamblin (Dawna), and LaRisa Hamblin; grandchildren: Kay-Cee Fielding (Zac), Bailie Rae Rowe (Andrew), Tawni Glover, Bailey Paige Hamblin, Layne Hamblin, Shaylee Ferguson, Brayden Hamblin, Lexie Madison, Drake Hamblin, Lorynn Hamblin, Bridger Madison, Kassidy Madison, and Rocco Hamblin; and great-grandchild: Boston Fielding.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4th promptly at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends Friday, May 3rd from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the mortuary.

Interment, Syracuse Cemetery.

A small luncheon will be held that afternoon in Michael''s honor at the Holy Family Church at 1100 E. 5550 S. South Ogden.
