HOOPER a€" Our loved Son and Brother left us on May 1, 2011 due to complications of pneumonia. Mike was sent to us on February 2, 1960 as one of God''s chosen few, born to parents Max Higgs and Kay Higgs Hornbuckle.

He was raised in the Ogden and Hooper areas. His love for life will never be forgotten. All of us believe he was placed in our family simply to help us be better and more compassionate.

Mike loved the Utah Jazz and bowling. He never missed a Jazz game on television unless he was able to score tickets to the game itself. After graduating from Canyon View, he worked for Enable Industries, and continued to work right up until his passing.

He is survived by his mom & dad, Kay & George Hornbuckle, sister, Lori (Jeff) Lewis, brother, Shaun (Connie) Higgs, sister, Nancy (David) Lindquist, sister, Robin (Darrell) Shepherd, sister, Susan (Shiloh Shannon) Hornbuckle, and many special nieces and nephews, especially his nephew, Connor.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Max Higgs, brother, Gregory Zane Higgs, grandparents, William and Faye Higgs and John and Gladys VanDrimmelen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11a.m. at Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

A special thanks to the staff and family of Trinity Mission Wide Horizons Care Center, who were such a big part of Mike''s life. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Andersen and the 3rd floor nursing staff at McKay Dee Hospital for their compassion and care for Mike''s needs. We love you Burt! You will be missed... ..hugs & kisses.
