Michael Earl Kelly, our Father, Brother, Uncle and Brother-in-law, passed away in peace, Monday morning, February 11, 2013. He will be remembered with love and affection by all who knew him. His integrity and compassion, which was so much a part of him, will be greatly missed, as will his quiet disposition.

He was born December 24, 1933 in Lima, Ohio to William Earl and Gertrude Helen Kelly. He graduated from South High School in Lima and enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1951, where he had a successful and rewarding career. While stationed in Chi-Chi Jima, Japan, he met Emmie Carol Floyd and they were married on December 14, 1957. They lived in Southern California and for a short time in Mississippi where he tried his hand at country life. They eventually settled in Damascus, Oregon, to raise a family. Retiring from the Navy after 20 years of service, he went to work for U.S Bank as a currency machine mechanic.

One of his pastimes and passions was gardening, and he took great pride in creating a beautiful garden with his wife. They used to sit outside and talk about what they would do the next year to make it more beautiful.

Michael is survived by daughter, Kathleen of Damascus, OR; son, Christopher of Bend, OR; three grandsons; his loving sister, Jacqueline of Lima, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emmie Carol Kelly, parents, William and Gertrude Kelly, stepfather, Clarence Huffer, brother, Roger Kelly, nephew, Michael Joseph and infant son and daughter, Michael and Michelle Kelly.

Special recognition is given to friends and family, the staff of George E. Wahlen Veterans Home and Bristol Hospice, who took loving care of him during his final years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South, Roy, UT on February 23rd, beginning at 2:30 p.m. A Graveside service with Military Honors will follow at the Roy City Cemetery.
