Michael Winn Lundgreen

Michael Winn Lundgreen, 75, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Davis Hospital.

He was born April 5, 1941 in Preston, Idaho to Robert Frank and LaRue Winn Lundgreen. He was raised in Preston and spent his youth in Ogden. His employment took him many places throughout the country, he later returned to Ogden where he retired at age 59.

He married Virginia Ann Scott on June 3, 1963, she preceded him in death June 9, 1995. On April 19, 1996, Michael married Karen Marie Rasmussen Birchell.

Michael served in the U.S. Army as a medical specialist from January 1965 to January 1968.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in various callings throughout his life. He also served as a temple worker in the Ogden Temple for seven years.

Michael was also a member of the American Legion.

He was very athletic in his younger years and always loved sports of all kinds. He coached Little League baseball and basketball. He enjoyed being outdoors and his favorite activities were basketball and golf.

Michael is survived by his wife, Karen, his children, Brenda (Doug) Sparks, Michael (Julie) Lundgreen, Debra Lundgreen, Brent (JoAnn) Lundgreen, Brian (Angela) Lundgreen, Daren Lundgreen, Jillene (Dan) Collins, Beth (Charles) Usery, Dara Wallace; son-in-law, Randy Joles; 26 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia, children, Teresa Joles, Mikey Hanley and Margaret Hanley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
