“The Caboose”

On Saturday August 6, 2022, Michael George Martin “The Caboose” passed away at his home at the age of 68. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather and friend who loved with all his heart. He would give the shirt off his back, if it meant he would make someone happy and smile.

Born in Ogden, Utah to Norma Stanger Martin and Keith Leroy Martin on July 18, 1954, Mike was the youngest of six kids. He was raised in Layton, Utah and attended school in Davis County. He moved to Ogden and called that his home for most of his life, he loved it there.

Michael had a passion for truck driving, being on the open round and meeting new faces all over the place. He was an avid collector of many things and loved to be the life of the party.

He was married three times to Jeannie, Alyson “Jackie” and Janalee and ended his day's with "his love" LaRee who passed in 2019. 

Michael is survived by his son, Kenneth Joseph (Joey) and daughters, Noell Dawn and Michelle Lee; sister, Donna Warren; brother, Steven Martin; and nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful grandfather to his one granddaughter, Bailey and two grandsons, Liam and Connor who all will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his dad, Keith; mother, Norma; brothers, Kenneth and Robert; sisters Linda; as well as his baby son, Jeffrey Leroy who he finally got to meet.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
