Michael L. Miner
GUNLOCK, Utah – Michael Lowell Miner, 68, passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 in St. George, Utah of lymphoma cancer.
He was born October 6, 1939 in Ogden, Utah to Lowell Leonani and Ethel Kathleen Michaels Miner.
Michael married Lynda Lovell and they had a son, Robb Lovell Miner, and a daughter, Maren Elizabeth Jones. They were later divorced. He married Judy Roper on October 23, 1981.
He attended the University of Montana in 1966. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree, his Master’s Degree, and PhD in Limnology from the University of Utah, graduating in 1971.
Michael worked with the State of Utah and Weber Basin Water Conservancy District in Layton for 32 years. He loved the outdoors working on the rivers, streams and reservoirs. He retired in December of 2007 and moved to Gunlock, Utah where he expected to spend many years.
He loved restoring old cars. His favorite cars were his 50 Buick, old Volkswagens and his current project was his roadster. Michael enjoyed remodeling his several homes, expressing his creativity. He could think about what he was going to build, sketch it and build it.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Miner, his children, Robb Miner and Maren (Mike) Jones, and four grandchildren, Brady Dale Miner, Kara Marie Jones, Mason Michael Jones and Lexi Marie Jones.
Also surviving is one brother, Robert E. (Linda) Miner, and one nephew, Michael W. Miner.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family and friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
