Gone to Play the Back-Nine!!

Our amazing Husband, Daddy, Papa, and friend passed awy on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on April 23, 1942 in Provo, Utah to Paul Robert and Erma Baum Strebel. Mike grew up in Washington Terrace and graduated from Weber High School in 1960. He earned a B.S. in Sociology and M.S. in Administraiton from the Univerisity of Utah. Mike worked for Utah State Juvenile Courts for 34 years and retired in 2000. He was also a volunteer at the Ogden Regional Medical Center.

While growing up, he loved baseball and played one year at Weber State University. Years later, golf became Mike''s passion.

Mike married the love of his life Sharon Sparrow on June 22, 1965. They were sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple on April 23, 2013. They have two children, Kimberley and Scott. Mike was an extraordinary father who was always present in their lives. He was always present in their lives. He coached their Little League Baseball and Softball teams. He never missed an event.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Kimberley (Rob) Thiel; granddaughter, Kalee (Tim) Pentz; grandson, Michael (Christina) Thiel; brothers, Robert (Delores) Strebel, Thom (Elouise) Strebel, and Rick (Pauline) Strebel; sister-in-law, Linda Hansen; brother-in-law, Darwin (Laurie) Sparrow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and son Scott.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
