Michael Douglas Tomney

Michael Douglas Tomney passed away February 28, 2018 from illness pertaining to diabetes. He was surrounded by his wife and children he adored.
He was born September 22, 1949 in Ogden, UT. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1967. He attended Weber State College where he enjoyed the friendship of many fraternity brothers.
Mike was a successful salesman retiring from Waxie Sanitary Supply. He loved his job with his whole heart. Every client he had was a friend and he would know their life story after the first meeting.
Mike was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in several positions. He met many dear friends and mentors along this path. He was an avid scout leader and expected his scouts to wear the uniform properly each time they put it on.
He was married to Barbara Nicholas Tomney on October 15 1994. They shared a blended family of 8 children, 35 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. They were sealed together January 21, 2012 in the Bountiful Temple. That had an exceptional love story and enjoyed many things together including travel, a service mission in Ogden Utah, and their beautiful family. Mike also served at the LDS Storehouse.
Mike is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Travis (Julie) Tomney, Azuree (Jason) Ball, Brax (Ali) Tomney, Stacy (Troy) Page, Matthew (Rachel) Roper, Candice (Ryan) Nelson, Timothy (Marie) Roper, and Shannon (Chris) Limburg. He is also survived by his brother, Ron (Sandra) Tomney and one nephew, Ryan Tomney.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
