Mildred Elva Egbert, beloved wife Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother Sister, and friend, passed away Friday September 17, 2010 in Bakersfield, California.
Mildred was born January 30, 1922 in Sunset, Davis County, Utah to Elva Robbins Coxey and Fred Lee Coxey. She grew up in Ogden Utah, graduated from Ogden High School, and attended Weber College.
On January 30, 1941, Mildred married Vernon Charles Egbert in Corinne, Utah. Shortly after, their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, for time and all eternity.
Vernon was then called to serve in World War II, and while he was away, Mildred worked as a switch board operator. In 1955, they moved to Paul, Idaho where they were engaged in farming. Mildred had many opportunities to work outside their home; she was a bookkeeper, secretary, and a teacher for children with special needs. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady in the hospitals.
In 1992, they retired and moved to St. George Utah, then moved to Bakersfield, California to be closer to family.
Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mildred served in many callings. She served in Primary, Young Women''s, Relief Society, and as a Stake Drama Director. She also served three church missions. Mildred was a good example for all, and loved to be around people. Mildred enjoyed life to the fullest.
Mildred is survived by two daughters, Susan Moncur and Jill Egbert; two sons, James Egbert, and Roger Egbert; seven grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday September 25th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will visit with friends at the mortuary on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45am.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
