Mildred "Mid" Hardy

Mildred Hardy, 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 22, 2008, from causes incident to age.

She was born September 11, 1921 in Ekland, Missouri to Oscar and Veta Lee Snodgrass. She attended schools in Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Springfield High School in 1939.

In 1940, Mildred married Charles Goudelock. They were later divorced. She married Paul Pierson in 1954. Paul died in 1969. She married Lester Hardy in 1985 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Mildred worked for Swift and Company in Springfield and the Utah Girl Scout Council in Ogden.

Mom was a beautiful artist and seamstress. She loved oil painting and sketching. She spent many hours quilting and sewing layettes for area hospitals. Mom always took pride in her "special Thanksgiving dressing".

She was a member of the First Christian Church and served as Church Treasurer, Secretary of the C.W.F., and as a Deaconess. She was a member of F.O.E. and enjoyed bingo with all of her friends.

Mom loved spending time with family. We have many happy memories of fishing trips and family vacations. One thing Mom will always be remembered for was her beauty and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. Until her last day, she enjoyed listening to and singing hymns.

Mildred is survived by her son, Dennis (Janice) Goudelock, Syracuse; daughter, Karen (Brent) Thompson, South Ogden; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Her grandkids will always remember her as "Granny Mildred".

The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice of Ogden and Access Hospice for all of their loving care and concern.
