Our beloved Mildred Young Hart, 94, slipped from mortality Nov. 24, 2007, at her home in Kaysville, Utah, of causes incident to age. She was a daughter of George Spencer and Martha Rigby Young, the 11th of 13 children, born April 17, 1913, in Driggs, Idaho, as her parents homesteaded -- a legacy of George''s grandparents, Brigham and Mary Ann Angell Young.
She graduated from East High in Salt Lake City, and from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. In 1933, she accepted a teaching position in Bloomington, Idaho, where she met and later married Eugene A. Hart on July 27, 1938, in the Logan Temple. She taught in Calexico, Calif., and at Anchorage and Whitesides elementary schools in Layton, Utah. She loved the arts, continually encouraging music in her home and collecting favorite poetry and inspirational sayings. She authored five books, the last a historical compilation of residents of Bloomington, Idaho. She was a gifted teacher. To her, everyone was special and all information could be fascinating. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she and Eugene served in the California Santa Rosa Mission in 1987. He died on Christmas day, 1993. In her latter years she was a great example of patience and endurance as, nearly sightless and immobile, she continued guiding her projects, friendships and her family.
Children are Blake (LuAnn Bennion) of Orem; Kathleen (Russell Dean) of Ephraim; David, deceased as an infant; Sherman, deceased; John (Doris Roberts) of Kaysville; Elizabeth, deceased (Norman Barnes of Ogden); Keith (Marilyn Wirthlin) of Kaysville, all of Utah; and Winston (Betsey Christopherson) of Bloomington, Idaho.

Sincere thanks are given to her devoted care-givers, Julane Young, and recently, Loa Gregory, nieces; as well as Hospice workers and many friends.
