WEST POINT – Mildred Lucille Smith, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 8, 2014.

She was born November 29, 1924 in Honolulu, Hawaii the daughter of Benjamin and Rose Enos Cordeiro.

Mildred married Robert Smith on November 19, 1948 and they were married 59 years before he preceded her in death on February 26, 2008.

She loved making porcelain dolls, reading, playing the piano and music.

Surviving are her son, Robert S. Smith Jr., Layton; daughter, Margaret (Charlie) Bishop, Muncie, Indiana; Babette (Dennis) Hillyer, Layton; four grandchildren, Crissy (Jared) Steed, Donald (Lex) Laursen III, Robert Smith III, Andrea Hillyer, seven great-grandchildren and sister, Vivian (Paul) Villarreal.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
