Milo LaMar Hull

October 14, 1927 — August 23, 2023

Milo LaMar Hull, 95, of Ogden, Utah, passed away quietly in his sleep on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Milo was born in Kanesville, UT on October 14, 1927 to Clyde and Dora Arave Hull. He grew up with his siblings, Clyde and Bette Hull. At age 17, he graduated Ogden High School and immediately enlisted in the Navy and served most of his deployment in Pearl Harbor from 1945 to 1948. He then graduated from Brigham Young University and did post-graduate work at the University of Utah. He taught English in Hawaii and at Central Junior High in Ogden.

In 1958, he met VaNetta Marie Morley, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple later that same year. Milo, VaNetta and Lani moved to Hawaii in 1962 where he owned and operated a Shell gas station and mechanic shop in Honolulu. Greg, Kerry, Julie and David were born in Honolulu. Milo loved the Hawaiian life, his wonderful friends there, and the beach. Like clockwork, you could find him and his family at Bellows Beach every Saturday. He loved restoring old cars, visiting his cabin in Island Park, ID, and spending time with his kids. After moving back and forth between Hawaii and the Mainland, Milo and VaNetta eventually retired and finally moved back to North Ogden.

Milo is survived by his wife, VaNetta; children, Lani and Steve Richards, Kerry and Asa Hull, Julie and Don Houston, and David and Missy Hull, as well as 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Milo was known throughout his life as being an incredibly kind and friendly person. He lived the Golden Rule almost effortlessly, and he garnered many meaningful friendships throughout his life. Milo will be remembered for being constantly humorous (yes, lots of “Dad jokes”!), and his positivity was infectious. He was the salt of the earth—a truly good and decent person, and he will be deeply missed.

We express our sincere appreciation to the compassionate staff of the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veteran’s Home who took such good care of him for the last 18 months of his life.
