Milo "Mike" Laverne Schnabel

Milo (Mike) Laverne Schnabel, born March 8, 1929, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2013. He was a loyal husband, loving father and grandfather, and known for his quick wit and wicked sense of humor.

Born in Tripp, South Dakota, the youngest of seven children, he grew up on a farm, attended a one room schoolhouse and spoke German until his teenage years. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and served as a veterinary assistant and linguist at Hahn AFB in Germany. Honorably discharged in 1954, he attended Michigan State University, earning a bachelor''s degree in Animal Health. He met his future wife Mary Ann Rosloniec as a sophomore. They were married in 1957 and had four children. Following graduation, he became a veterinary pharmaceutical representative for Hess and Clark (Rhone Poulenc), and spent his career traveling the U.S., finally settling in Bountiful, Utah. He loved music, art, football, fishing, and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, children Amy Bonnett (George), Michael, Christopher, Mary Haggett (David), grandchildren Jack and Katie Haggett, and sister Louella Robertson.

Memorial services will be announced at a later time. The family would like to extend its thanks to all of Mike''s friends for their love and support, and to the Veteran''s Administration Hospital staff in Salt Lake City for the excellent care they provided.
