Milton Page

World War II and Korean Conflict Veteran Milton Harold Page passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children, Linda Carrington of Napa, CA, Kathy (Larry) Carlson of Elk Ridge, UT, and Kenneth (Joni) Page of Kaysville, UT on February 6, 2016 after 92 years of faithful service to his country, his family and his church.  Milton was the eldest son of Daniel Harold and Susie (Parkin) Page.  He was born August 20, 1923 in West Point, Utah.

Milton was known for his quick wit, love of life, friendly nature and his sense of adventure. He always looked forward to what was around the next bend. He loved meeting new people, exploring new places and was well loved by all.  He lived his early years in West Point, graduating high school in 1941.  He loved cars, building things, electronics and flying airplanes.  He enjoyed a community of fellow ham radio enthusiasts around the world.

Milton was industrious and enterprising as a young boy growing up on the farm.  He attended Davis High School (class of 1941) in Kaysville, where he excelled in electronics.  After graduation, while waiting to join the Armed Forces, he attended a (CPT) civilian pilot training program at the old Ogden Airport and Weber College graduating with a Private Pilot’s License and an Associate degree.  Then he was off on assignments with the Army Air Corps, and later, Air Force.  He flew cargo and reconnaissance planes during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was awarded an Air Medal. He met his partner and true love for life, Glenna at the US Navy Supply Depot in Clearfield where she worked.  It was love at first sight and forever.  They married on December 19, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple and started their adventurous life in the Air Force. During peacetime he was a Meteorologist with the Air Force.  He briefed General MacArthur regarding the weather during the Inchon Invasion, key to winning the Korean Conflict.  Later in his career he worked in Base Operations at Hill Air Force Base as a civilian employee until he retired. In his career he was sent to different countries as well as US cities.  They lived in Spain, Germany, and Morocco with temporary duty assignments in Japan and Australia.  They traveled widely in the US and Europe every chance they could.

Milton was the eldest of five children, and is preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Ahlstrom, his sisters, Marilyn Tyner, Ruth Todd, and Virginia Walter.  He is survived by his 15 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and his only brother, Wendell Page of West Point, UT.

Many thanks to Legacy Village for their loving, respectful care of our beloved father.
