LAYTON a€" Miriam Raquel Diaz, 54, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was born January 16, 1955 in Chimbote, Peru to Victor and Delfina Oyanguren Diaz. She married Carlos Verastegui and together they had one daughter, Karla Julissa Leyba.

While in Peru, Miriam worked as a CNA for 20 years. She moved to Utah in 2001 and worked in production at DFG. Miriam was always happy; she loved life and she was strong, active and hard-working. She was a wonderful mother and sister, loving Aunt and faithful friend.

Miriam is survived by her mother and daughter Karla. She is also survived by her 10 siblings; Roberto Noriega, Nancy Page, Juana Merino, Roger Pizarro, Elena Diaz, Luis Diaz, Felipe Diaz, Mercedes Diaz, Cesar Diaz and Lidia Peterson.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends and family may visit Tuesday, November 10, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Funeral services will be begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the North Park Ward, 202 West 1675 North, Layton.
