Miriam Ann Fuell Fitzgerald, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away at the age of 70 on September 4, 2011 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT of causes incident to cancer.
Miriam was born March 9, 1941 in Mill End, Hertfordshire, England, daughter of Victor and Frances Fuell. She was raised in England and was a member of the Church of England.
Miriam married Howard Fitzgerald on July 12, 1958 in Bovingdon, England. They spent the next 20 years traveling extensively around the United States and several other countries while Howard served in the United States Air Force. They were blessed with three children: Karen, Bradley and Derek.
After retiring to Layton, UT in 1977, she worked as an office manager for Dr. Willard Maughan and as a scrub tech for Dr. John Keiter for many years. In 2001 Howard and Miriam moved to South Weber, UT. In their retirement she enjoyed traveling and time with her family. Miriam enjoyed knitting and reading and was well-loved by her family and those who knew her.
Miriam leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Howard; children: Karen Nelson, Roy; Bradley Fitzgerald, Ogden; and Derek (Nan) Fitzgerald, Syracuse; grandchildren Nikki (Tony) Leavitt, Devon (Matt) Perry, Breana Fitzgerald, Caden Fitzgerald, Taylor Duffin and Shelby Duffin as well as great-grandchildren Braxton, Bridger and Brynlee Leavitt. She is also survived by her brother Derek (Sheila) Fuell of St. Agnes, Cornwall, England.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary.
The family would like to thank Dr. Harold Johnson and his staff. Gratitude is also expressed to many friends and neighbors who have known their kindness and love.
