Mitchell Eugene McCloskey, age 74 of South Weber, Utah, passed away December 22, 2022, in Ogden, Utah. He was born January 16, 1948 in Pueblo, Colorado to Dallas Eugene Patterson, later legally adopted by Arthur Stevens McCloskey, Jr. and Dorothy Mae Smith
He married Judy Thompson in Arvada, CO November 24,1969. They were later divorced. He later married Kay Miller, in Monticello, CO on November 24, 1992. They were later divorced.
Mitch lived in Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona, and Utah.
Mitch had a strong belief in Jesus Christ and considered himself a Christian.
His hobbies included photography, painting and computer games. He loved my filly, Bliss and he loved cats. Our current cat, Ce Ce is really missing him.
Mitch visited 48 of the States in our nation. He missed Rhode Island and Hawaii. The Broncos were his team. Of course, since he was a native of Colorado. He rarely missed a game. If he did miss one he watched the recording!!
Mitch is survived by his sister, Peggy Lee (R Frank) Morgan, his brother Steven A. (Carol) McCloskey, and Timothy Roary McCloskey.
He was proceeded in death by all of his grandparents, his mother, Dorthy,Muzz, McCloskey and his father Arther, Mac, McCloskey. His sister Barbara Ellen (Jerry) Weeks.
Mitch had five children Kathleen and Bryan from his marriage to Judy. They were adopted by their 2nd father, and Mitch always regretted that. And three cherished stepdaughters, Amanda Rhodes, Ruth,
Ruthie, Glenn, Joanne, A.J, Miller. Mitch loved all of his children and was very proud of them.
Mitch was a very patient and compassionate person. He was the kindest person I have ever known. Of all our siblings, he was the most intelligent. Mitch worked at several jobs when he was younger, including one of the first Arby’s. It was number 3 of many to come.
He worked in his Uncle Daley’s car wash, and he serviced cell towers. There were many other jobs. Mick was very mechanical, and he could fix anything. He was able to figure out how things worked. When he was young, he took apart many of Dad’s tools, some were never put back together. Mitch used his mechanical and technical abilities to start his own company, MEM. He installed telephone systems in hotels and other large businesses. For years after he retired, hotels called him for repairs or enlargements.
I had the privilege of living with Mick at my house for 8 years. We shared many memories and
innumerable laughs at our “Capricorn” similarities. He will be missed very much. He was my little
brother, Micky!
