Mitsugi Takahashi

Mitsugi “Jiggs” Takahashi

He was born on February 6, 1924 in Ogden, UT and passed away on March 22, 2017 at Davis North Hospital.  He was the son of Tamekichi Takahasi and Koto Nakamura.  Graduated from Davis High School Class of 1942.  He lived in West Point, UT all of his adult life.  He served in the Army during World War II and was on the Queen Mary when the war ended.  He worked on farms in Layton and Lynn Criddle’s farm in West Point.  He then went to work and retired from HAFB.  He enjoyed gardening and taking care of his peonies.

He married Misako “Midge” Kojima on February 23, 1948 and just celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.  He is survived by his wife, Midge, sister, Utako Aramaki, and daughter, Barbara Takahashi, along with nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kerrye Takahashi, and siblings, Shizuko Takahashi and Toshio Takahashi.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the West Point Cemetery, 10 No. 4025 W., West Point.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
