Miyuki T. Nakano 1925-2013

Miyuki Tashima Nakano was born on November 17, 1925 in Los Angeles to Yukio and Teruye Tashima, died November 24, 2013 surrounded by her family, in Bountiful, Utah. She is survived by her daughters Naomi (Bob); Cheryl; Joy (Scott); seven grandchildren: Sydney, Shelby, Kacie, Alec, Devon, Taylor, Maddie. Siblings in Japan Hidemi, Sachimi and Shigeki. Sister-in-laws Fuyumi, Fumi, Aileen and Betty. She is preceded in death by her husband Rokuro Nakano, parents and brother Toshiyuki.

She moved to Japan with her parents in 1930 and returned to the United States in 1955. While living in SLC she lived with her aunt and cousins and worked as a seamstress. She married Rokuro on November 29, 1958. Miyuki and Rokuro worked side by side for many, many years on the Nakano family farm, as turkey farmers, gardeners and in facilities services.

She was a member of the Syracuse Buddhist Church, Ogden Buddhist Church, SLC Buddhist Church, Buddhist Woman''s Association (Fujinkai), Hiroshima Kenjinkai, and Shizuoka Kenjinkai. She actively supported her daughters in their Japanese dancing, Girl Scouts and other activities through her time and willingness to learn new skills for their projects. Her hobbies included singing, Japanese crafts (kimekome doll making and temari ball making), sewing and making sushi with the BWA ladies. She loved to be with her grandchildren and her extended family and friends. Miyuki will be remembered as quiet, hard working, patient and kind. She loved her family and friends, and having a good time. Family and community were everything to her.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 am Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit from 10:00 a�" 11:00 am prior to services. Interment Ogden City Cemetery, Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
